DESIGNED FOR THE
DIRECTOR'S VISION.
Every film. Every aspect ratio. Exactly as intended. IMASK physically frames the projected image for different formats, creating a dedicated cinema presentation without visible unused screen area.
The screen should follow the movie.
Movies are produced in many different aspect ratios. On a conventional 16:9 projection screen, widescreen films leave unused image area above and below the active picture.
IMASK replaces that unused screen area with physical black masking, so the visible projection surface always follows the proportions of the content being shown.
No masking.
Full height.
With native 16:9 content, the full projection surface is visible, providing maximum image height for television, gaming and standard-format film presentation.
Masking engaged.
Cinematic focus.
For Cinemascope content, the top and bottom masking panels move inward and physically define the active image area. The remaining screen surface disappears into deep black, strengthening perceived contrast and removing peripheral distractions.
Every format in its purest form.
Masking does more than simply cover unused screen area. It creates a defined visual boundary around the image, allowing the composition itself to become the only thing the audience sees.
Experience every aspect ratio in its intended form.
Preserve the format filmmakers compose for.
No unused screen surface competing with the image.
Physical masking removes peripheral visual distractions.
Set once.
Recall instantly.
IMASK stores six independently programmable masking positions. These can be configured around the aspect ratios you actually use, allowing the correct image frame to be recalled instantly without manually adjusting the masking every time.
Precision in every detail.
The complete masking mechanism is integrated into the frame, combining motor control, precision movement and installer-friendly service access in one purpose-built system.
Secure integrated power connection.
Local override control directly at the screen.
Integration with cinema automation systems.
Critical components remain accessible from the room side.
Stability behind the image.
IMASK uses a rigid aluminium frame with adjustable internal stiffeners to maintain long-term geometry and allow the internal structure to be positioned around loudspeakers behind the screen.
Everything accessible
from the room side.
IMASK can be assembled directly on the wall when floor assembly is impractical. Projection fabric, motors and critical components remain accessible from the front, even after the cinema is completed.
Install the wall brackets.
Six concealed brackets establish the position of the finished screen and allow the frame to be assembled directly on the wall.
Assemble the frame on the wall.
The frame sections are secured directly to the brackets, eliminating the need to build the complete screen on the floor first.
Install the fabric from the front.
The projection fabric is tensioned into the integrated grip rails from the room side using the included installation tool.
Install the front covers.
Once the projection surface is installed, the velour-covered front panels conceal the mounting and mechanical system for a clean finished appearance.
From handheld remote
to full cinema automation.
IMASK supports standalone operation as well as integration into advanced cinema control systems.
Network control enables integration with systems including Control4, Crestron and other automation platforms. Masking commands can also be coordinated with projector lens memories.

DreamScreen is developing AutoMask, an optional HDMI-based system intended to analyse the active image format and automatically recall the corresponding masking position.
Automated aspect-ratio integration with processors including madVR Envy and Lumagen is also under development.

The speakers behind.
IMASK can be configured with DreamScreen UltraWeave acoustically transparent projection fabric, allowing the left, centre and right loudspeakers to be positioned directly behind the image.
